In what ways has social bias affected the achievement of girls with gifts?

This notion of social bias can be linked strongly to stereotyping. This is common among all girls not just the gifted ones. The female group as a whole is pressured to look a certain way. It’s hard enough to do it without being gifted, let alone being gifted. The girls that are gifted are shown to hide their gifts; they are then loosing an important part of themselves.

Define and discuss the concept of twice exceptional.
The term twice exceptional stands for children that have a disability but at the same time are gifted. For instance, an autistic child that can paint and, or sing extremely well.
Differentiated instruction

This is when the teacher takes another route to help the students learn, that helps them to process, construct, or make sense of ideas. Also developing teaching products so that all students within a classroom can learn effectively; regardless of differences in ability.

I think that this approach to learning can help students explore what kind of learner they are, if they are visual or oral. Also this can be used to accent the children with needs. A classroom teacher can use this in the way our class used it, with the baseball experiment. The class can all participate in the activity based on their ability and how well they can do something. The next trick for a new teacher would be incorporating it into the content of the class. For example my content is Business. I could have the students in a mock company running certain areas of the company, the accountant can be someone good in math. Then I am able to get to know my students and they can feel included and important.

This method can also incorporate the exceptional child and include them and help focus on their needs. The culturally diverse students in return can help add to the instruction with their own experiences.

Another way is with photography learning, this can help the visual learners in the classroom. The class can find objects that relate back to the Unit or lesson that is being taught.
